Congradulations to Olympic athletes
March 03, 2010
We've had many athletes warm up their legs on our trails prior to the Olympics. A big congradulations goes out to all of them on their races during the Olympics. The field of athletes competing in cross country and biathlon was expremely competative; the race leaders changes frequently and the finishes were very close.
Our Canadian athletes pushed their limits and had some good results. CBC recaps it well in this article.
A special mention goes to Halvard Hanevold who we watched training at Sovereign everyday for two weeks before the Olympics who ended up on the podium for the Men's 4x7.5 km Relay.

Brian McKeever raced at the NorAm race at Sovereign in December. Unfortunately he didn't get to race. "Grange's blog: McKeever decision breaks your heart" describes the situation.
Gord Jewett and Garrot Kuzzy, our modest first and second place finishers at the NorAm race in December kept all of their fans up to date during the Olympics with Kuzzy's blog updates and Gord Jewett on twitter.

Apolgies if any of the athletes that trained at Sovereign have been missed. They all did so well we'd like to acknowledge each and everyone of them.
