Only 90 days until the Sparkling Hill Masters World Cup and 23 days until Christmas.... yes it is December already. We hope that you've all had a chance to come up and ski. If you haven't, we have plenty of reasons for you to make your way up the hill this month.
Stussi Sport Demo Day
Sunday Dec 5th from 10 – 2 pm at SLNC. Try out the latest ski gear and find out what's for this season with the experts.

Haywood NorAmand Teck Sprints
Come out and enjoy the excitement as we watch past and future Olympians test themselves at the first NorAm of the season.
Dec 11th, Classic sprints. With the edition of the bridge, this is the first time in years that Sovereign Lake is offering a classic sprint course. Qualification rounds starting at 9am. Top 30 athletes will advance to the sprint heats.
Dec 12th - distance skate race. 15km men's race and 10km women's race, starting at 9am.

Where to ski during the NorAm?
Trails will be open for general skiing during the NorAm. Saturday most of the trails will be open and unaffected by the Classic Sprints in the Stadium. If you ski the Carl Wylie Trail you will detour in the reverse direction on Sovereign to avoid the stadium.
Sunday we are using the upper 5km World Cup course for the Freestyle Race. If you want to avoid the races completely ski Carl Wylie via Woodland Bell again returning via Sovereign in reverse. Montezuma will be unaffected. Marshals will direct skiers on Woodland Bell, Aberdeen or Lars Taylor.
Moonlit Guided Snowshoe
...to Black Prince cabin on December the 21st (Tuesday). The evening includes snowshoes, a meal and of course a guide.
Members $35.00 and non member $50.00.
Pre Christmas Lantern Ski and Potluck
December the 23rd (Thursday)
Bring your favorite dish and join us for a social evening... meet new friends, old friends and eat scrumptious food. Ski Woodland Bell as it will be lit with over 100 lanterns and finish at the bonfire in the stadium with a delicious hot chocolate in hand.
Club Racing Suits
Sovereign Lake Nordic Club Race suits are available to try on at Stussi Sport until December 10th. Suits can be purchased at the Lodge ONLY. Program participants pay only $220 with a $100 deposit required when you order. The order is being placed on December 11th. Club Jackets are always available at the Lodge.

Introducing Emily Morel
Emily is our seasoned star coach at Sovereign. She's skied all of her life. She was a national level racer when she was attending Laurentian University where she graduated with Hon. BSc Kinesiology. She is a highly certified nordic instructor who teaches north and south of the equator and is super enthusiastic and makes lessons fun for all ages, whether you are a kid, or a big kid!

Sunday Skate Clinic Dec 19th, 10am for novices, 1pm for advanced, $40
