Welcome to our Newest Adult Cross Country Ski Program – Adult Heroes for the 2025/26 season!

Sovereign Lake Nordic Club offers an alternative to Masters XC for adults 19 years and over. This program is designed to focus on developing techniques and improving fitness to help participants become more confident skiers. Led by a qualified professional coach, this program provides space for learning by offering both classic and skate sessions. It also provides guidance and support for participants to develop a plan for skiing that will supplement the one session each week and fit into their lifestyles.
The program runs one night per week, 6:00-7:30 Tuesdays, at the same time as youth programs. This way those who have kids in programs can drop them off and take part in a program themselves.
Each session includes a focus on technique and drills for the length of the session. Any sessions missed by participants will not be compensated or rescheduled. Sessions cancelled by SLNC due to cold weather will be rescheduled later in the season as possible; if it is not possible, there will be no refunds issued. The sessions will run as follows:
- November 25th 2025- March 10th, 2026 Tuesday nights only from 6:00 pm-7:30 pm.
The program is best suited to intermediate skiers, who are minimally able to ski 6 kilometers in 60 minutes on flat to gently rolling terrain (think Passmore Carl Wylie for those who have skied at Sovereign). It is recommended that you have skied for a season or two before joining this group.

Here’s how to register in two easy steps:
Step 1: Decide if you meet the minimum ski requirements for the program (able to ski 6 kilometres in 60 minutes on flat to gently rolling terrain). If you are unsure and want to discuss this with a program organizer, please contact the Adult Heroes Coach.
What happens next?
You will receive confirmation of your registration and payment. At least two weeks before the program’s start date, you will receive information about the ski group and what will happen on the first day.
