More info to come soon!!!
Working in partnership with the Okanagan Indian Band and the Splatsin First Nation to provide free ski and snowshoe programming through the Sovereign Lake S’Cool Ski Program.
U35’s is first and foremost a social and fun learning environment bringing friends and soon-to-be friends together to learn new skills and confidence. For those who are new to skiing, we will have one group focusing more on skill progression throughout the season while getting fitter. For others who have some more experience or are wanting to focus more on endurance, another group (no-drop) will be exploring the beautiful trails of Sovereign while maybe getting some technique feedback. Participants can pick which group to join each week based on their skill progression and energy in each session.
Who is this program for?
If you are aged 16 – 35, physically active in day-to-day life or organized sport, and want to meet other like-minded individuals.Would be great for those looking to cross-train in the off-season. If you want to learn a new sport or continue to develop your ski technique and fitness. The main focus is skate skiing, but we don’t discriminate against those who are classic skiers!
What are the Benefits?
Discount on nightly rentals and trail passes, which means you do not have to buy a season pass (although maybe not a bad idea). This program will also include entries into the Headlamp Heros night race series. We finish each practice session off the right way, we’ll provide some beverages and snacks.
When do we meet?
Wednesday’s 6-7:30 pm, from January 4th to March 8th. Meeting in the stadium in front of the tech building (smaller green building with an LED time clock).
How do I prepare for this?
For those who want to learn how to ski or improve their skills, we are offering a 3-week Tune-Up Program in December led by our highly skilled instructors. This will be a great introduction or refresher for the upcoming program season.
