XC Instructor Level III

CANSI XC Level III

This is a five-day course for XC ski instructors with considerable instructing experience. It will prepare you for teaching the full range of skiing manoeuvres to intermediate skiers. It will help you to conduct complex and adaptive lessons involving detailed and comprehensive skiing analysis and skill-improvement techniques. This course will help you to understand cause and effect for assessment and development and give you precise and detailed knowledge of CANSI methodology and technical concepts.

XC Instructor Level II

CANSI XC Level II

This is a four-day course for XC ski instructors with some instruction experience. It will prepare you for teaching a variety of skiing manoeuvres to novice skiers using CANSI’s teaching methodology. You will learn how to apply the methodology and technical concepts to assess and develop novice skiers who are looking for improved technique or more efficiency in their skiing.

You may also consider discussing your skiing skills with an appropriate course conductor.

Teaching knowledge:

You should have experience conducting ski lessons with novice skiers using analysis and development strategies in both small-group and private sessions. You should have experience conducting safe and effective lessons with multiple students.

XC Instructor Refresher

Refresher
CANSI instructors who wish to maintain their professional certification must attend a refresher at least once every three years. These one-day courses allow instructors to perfect their ski analysis skills, improve their teaching methods and stay current in the evolution of telemark and cross country ski technique.

CANSI offers free refreshers to its members but fees for trail passes or lift tickets are not included.

CANSI XC Level I
This is a three-day course for those new to XC ski instruction. It will give you the skills and resources to teach classic and skate technique to beginner skiers using CANSI’s teaching methodology with a focus on safety and skill progression.

To become a certified XC ski instructor and to learn CANSI’s approach for teaching classic and skate technique to beginner skiers;
To develop the skills and resources to teach professionally, or to help friends and family on the trails.
